According to Li Xiandong, Minister of Culture of Shenyang Machine Tool Group, from the world's first I5 intelligent machine tool in 2014 to the country's first intelligent factory in 2016, Shenyang Machine Tool Group is accelerating its transformation from a product manufacturer to an industrial service provider relying on its unique I5 intelligent terminal manufacturing capability, U2U and remanufacturing and other new business models. This year, Shenyang Machine Tool launched the strategy of building 30 smart factories nationwide, and 16 have been signed. This marks a big step forward in the transformation of Shenyang Machine Tool from an intelligent machine tool product manufacturer to an intelligent factory industrial service provider.

Midea Group also has made breakthroughs in the construction of smart factories. In the first half of 2016, the most advanced automated production line in China was officially put into use in Midea Air Conditioning Nansha Factory, indicating the official completion of Midea Group's first smart factory in the country.
