Top Entry IML Robot For Cup/Bowl/Container
Equipment Details
Optimized for the molding characteristics and labeling process of plastic bowls, this robot adapts to curved-surface bowl geometries and mold working conditions. During mass production, the robot runs in a closed-loop standardized cycle. It accurately grips dedicated labels, corrects their position and feeds them to designated mold positions, then retracts from the mold after precise positioning. The injection molding machine completes injection molding afterwards. Once parts are fully cured, the robot re-enters the mold to pick finished products and places them steadily at the unloading station. The system operates cyclically to form a fully-automated production chain: label picking → positioning → mold entry → in-mold labeling → injection molding → part extraction → discharging. It eliminates the crude operation of merely placing labels, and guarantees consistent labeling accuracy in every cycle.
Equipment Advantages
The core strengths lie in high-precision performance and adaptability to complex curved surfaces. Fitted with high-accuracy servo motors and precision reducers, it delivers stable operation with minimal errors, perfectly satisfying high-precision labeling requirements for curved bowl surfaces.
Unlike conventional take-out robots that only remove finished parts, the 5-axis design enables flexible motion trajectories and posture adjustment. It adjusts working angles according to mold structure and label location, and performs sophisticated operations through multi-axis coordinated motion.
It upgrades production from manual label loading to automatic robotic in-mold labeling. Fully programmed operation eliminates label offset and position deviation caused by human intervention, greatly improving surface consistency for high-appearance-demand products such as food-packing bowls.
Moreover, it combines labeling and automatic part removal in one machine, completing two core processes integrally. It drastically cuts repetitive manual work to realize remarkable cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
Equipment Parameters
Designed for 300-480T injection molding machines, this unit features 5axis servo drive and dedicated IML mechanism. Applicable Products
Targeted at various injection-molded bowl articles: regular plastic bowls, food-packing bowls, disposable plastic bowls, catering-packing bowls, takeaway-packing bowls, plastic food containers and thin-wall plastic containers. It covers automated IML production of bowl-type products across catering and food-packing industries with broad versatility.

Core Components
Globally-sourced core components are specially optimized for this application. The 5-axis servo system delivers precise motion control for label picking, mold entry and part extraction. The dedicated IML system realizes label gripping, conveying, positioning and in-mold placement for labels of different sizes and forms. The intelligent control system achieves signal interlock between robot and injection molding machine for closed-loop coordinated workflow. Custom end-of-arm tooling is also supplied: suction cups, clamps, air circuits and specialized label-picking assemblies are matched to product and mold specifications to ensure stable, error-free gripping, labeling and part removal.

Application Site & Customer Feedback
Common industry pain points for bowl-type IML production include inaccurate label positioning, lack of integrated processes, label drift during continuous runs and high labor costs-these are where this robot outperforms ordinary robots. Traditional production relies on manual label placement and manual part retrieval, with cumbersome workflows, large tolerances and low efficiency. After deploying this robot, full-process automation is achieved: automatic label picking, mold entry, injection molding, part extraction and discharging. Production evolves from “operator-attended machine running” to “program-driven mass production with operators only for equipment supervision”. Real full-automated IML production is realized with smoother workflow, stable output and consistent product quality.
